    Madonna ticket info and bio

Madonna was born Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone on August 15th, 1968 in Bay City, MI. Her Stardom would begin in and around 1984 but she actually started pursuing her musical dream in 1977 in New York City after only 3 semesters in college and
brief stints with the Alvin Ailey Dancers and other musical dance troupes. In 1979, Madonna actually danced and sang with the Patrick Hernandez Band, a disco group who had a hit you may have heard, "Born to Be Alive." In 1979 she met up with Dan Gilroy, the two got along quick and formed the Breakfast Club.
Madonna became the lead singer and in 1980, she left the band and formed Emmy with her former boyfriend, drummer Stephen Bray. Soon, Bray and Madonna broke off with The Breakfast club and landed a deal with Sire Records, who signed Madonna in 1982. Madonna's first mild hit was the club and dance beat, "Everybody," and 1983's "Physical Attraction," had some success. In June of 1983, Madonna was even more successful with her pop hit "Holiday" which you still hear played on the radio today. After Holiday things started really getting good for the singer, in early 1984 she released "Borderline" on her debut album which became her first Billboard Top 10 hit. This would start a string of 17 straight Top Ten hits. Not only would Madonna move up the charts with "Lucky Star" she also starred in a mildly successful movie, beginning an acting career that would also span 2 decades in Susan Seidelman's Desperately Seeking Susan. Her next album, Like a Virgin, hit number one in December, staying at the top of the charts for a full month and a half. After this Madonna would solidify herself not only as a singer and even actor, but an international star and sex symbol. Her provocative videos and captivating good looks pushed her ahead of other female artists at the time. And her unique forceful personality gave her another kind of inventiveness, energy and beauty but forcefulness.

    Madonna's first concert tour

Madonna's first big concert tour was with the Beastie Boys (that's right!). In August of 1985, she married big time actor Sean Penn, but the marriage would not last forever, ending in 1989. In 1986, Madonna struck gold again with the release of True Blue, with the number 1 hit "Papa Don't Preach". The album sold over 5 million copies worldwide. In 1987, she would scored a top single with "Open Your Heart". In 1989, Madonna released another big commercial success in Like a Prayer with three huge hits, "Like a Prayer", "Express Yourself," "Cherish," and "Keep It Together," In April of 1990, Madonna toured the country on the strength of her previous successes and new hit, "Vogue" which sparked her Blond Ambition tour, one of the best grossing Madonna concert tours. Madonna also was able to escape from movie critics with a hit at the box office in Dick Tracy alongside Warren Beatty. Her two previous movies were shunned by critics (Shanghai Surprise and Who's That Girl). Madonna returned to the charts in the summer of 1992 with the number one hit "This Used to Be My Playground," featured in the hit "A League of their Own". Later in 1992, Madonna released the risqué book called Sex with pictures of several stars and herself in nude and provocative poses and other comments. She also released her sexiest album yet, Erotica and sold over 2 million copies. In 1994, she also released Bedtime Stories. And on the strength of the number 1 hit "Take a Bow," that album too would go multi-platinum. Madonna would then hit another acting milestone, winning a Golden Globe for the film Evita and scoring mild success with the soundtrack for Evita, with the song "Don't Cry for Me Argentina".

    Madonna reinvents herself

Madonna then turned from simply dance, pop/rock music to 1997's album, Ray of Light, which was added dance to electronica, techno, and even hip-hop.
Madonna would follow Ray of Light with the Album, "Music" and in 2000 have her second child, Rocco, with the father being her boyfriend Guy Ritchie (a film maker) who she would marry in an extravagant private wedding at the end of the year. In 2002-03, Madonna would release the album, "American Life", which was not a huge success, also the movie Swept Away with her husband which also did badly at the box office. But in the summer of 2004, Madonna would reinvent her music and concert touring with the Re-invention tour to sold out concert audiences everywhere, selling out multiple nights at arenas and other concert venues everywhere. After touring North America and several other countries with the Reinvention tour, Madonna would get back to what she does best, choreographing, singing and developing new dance music.

Madonna from 2005 to today's new tour

In 2005, she came out with "Confessions on a Dance Floor", a new album that brings back her dance-oriented and shows also small shades of her work with techno music in Ray of Light. And with this album comes the all new Madonna Confessions Tour. Madonna will come back to North America to tour many U.S. cities including Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles and bring exciting stage setups, of course lots of dancing, and extravagant light shows, as well as great music to a concert hall near you.
