Baltimore Orioles
O! Say can you see with Baltimore Orioles tickets
This year is sure to be an exciting one at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, home
stadium to the Baltimore Orioles since 1992. With a losing streak that's lasted
nine straight years the Orioles say that 2007 is their year to shine.
Orioles ticket holders meet the players at FanFest
The fans seem to think this could be the Orioles year, as well. Baltimore
Orioles tickets are in demand as fans flock to Oriole Park at Camden Yards to
see what the teams ten new players can do. At the recent 'FanFest' more then
10,000 die hard Orioles fans came out, braving the chill, to meet their favorite
players, get to know the 'new guys', and pick up some Orioles team memorabilia.
All of the current Orioles, and many former players, turned out to greet and
sign autographs for Baltimore Orioles ticket holders.
Why you want Baltimore Orioles tickets this year
Sam Perlozzo, now starting his second full season as manager, seems confident
that his team can live up to the Baltimore Orioles ticket holders' hopes. The
team boasts four time all star Miguel Tejada, who is considered one of the best
players of the game. The Orioles also have a full staff of pitchers who are
making headlines. Add in the 40 million dollars the Orioles spent on the team
bullpen and you can see the team is starting out on the right foot.
However the Baltimore Orioles have a tough road ahead of them. They are up
against a division that baseball watchers consider the best in the game. While
Baltimore Orioles ticket holders know that their home team has gotten better so
have many other teams in their league- most notably the Boston Red Sox and the
New York Yankees. Many baseball pundits have made the comment that it's not
enough for the Orioles to improve themselves, they have to improve at a faster
rate then the rest of their league. And those teams are doing their best to make
that hard for the Baltimore Orioles.
Will this year be the year the Orioles make their come back? Pick up some
Baltimore Orioles tickets and watch the action yourself!
Over the last few years the Baltimore Orioles have made some changes and fans
will be buying Orioles tickets in hopes of seeing their team establish
themselves in a division with the
New York Yankees and the
Boston Red Sox. Behind new manager Sam Perlozzo and new general manager Jim
Duquette, the Orioles will try to further improve and with the addition of some
new players, they will look to contend. The Orioles first took the field in 1953
after the struggling St. Louis Browns moved to Baltimore and took on the new
name. After struggling for the first decade or so, the Orioles as a franchise
came into there own, winning their first World Series in 1966. With six total
appearances in the World Series, Baltimore won it all in 1970 after a
disappointing loss to the 69' Miracle Mets and again in 1983 behind Orioles
legends Jim Palmer, Eddie Murray, Rick Dempsey, and Cal Ripken Jr. 1983 being
his sophomore season, this was just the beginning of Ripken's roller coaster
ride with the Orioles as he had seen both highs and lows during his "Iron Man"
streak of playing 2,632 games, beating Lou Gehrig's all-time Major League
record. A new era began for the Orioles in 1992 with the opening of Camden
Yards, a modern day ballpark that also harked back to the classic style of early
20th century baseball fields. The O's have not seen much success since the late
90's, and are looking to restore a winning tradition in Baltimore. The first few
years of the post Cal Ripken Jr. era have seen early season success marred by
injuries and poor performances late in the year. Last year's team saw
controversy shake up the clubhouse as Rafael Palmeiro's steroid controversy
served as a catalyst for another downfall to a promising season and the firing
of manager Lee Mazzilli. Now with Perlozzo at the reins, GM Jim Duquette has
brought in Red Sox slugger Kevin Millar, center fielder Corey Paterson, and
coveted free agent catcher Ramon Hernandez, to join Melvin Mora, Brian Roberts,
Jeff Conine, Jay Gibbons, Javey Lopez, and all-star Miguel Tejada in the field.
Starting pitcher Kris Benson will join Erik Bedard, Daniel Cabrera, Bruce Chen,
and Rodrigo Lopez in the starting rotation. Orioles tickets will be in demand
this year as the team will be taking a mix of familiar players and new ones onto
the field, trying to re-establish a Baltimore tradition of winning.
