With all three healthy, they can pose a potent threat in the heart of the batting order. Also on the field at Comerica Park will be Craig Monroe, Brad Inge, and Carlos Guillen. Challenging Young and Carlos Pena for the starting job at first base will be Chris Shelton, who proved himself while filling in last year. The Tigers may have not had the greatest success lately, but the pieces are falling into place and they are poised to finally have a winning season.
