NEW YORK METS TICKETS
Reasons to Buy New York Mets Tickets
Expectations are soaring out of the park for the New York Mets and Mets ticket
sales this season. Despite their loss to the World Series champions St. Louis
Cardinals last year, they came out swinging away with a three-game sweep on the
opening of this season against the Cardinals. This not only gives them the best
opening day winning percentage of any team in the league, but gives supporting
fans reasons to buy up more Mets tickets.
Suspense and drama is sure to run the bases this year with a questionable
pitching staff and the hardest playing schedule of any major league team. The
addition of Moises Alou in the outfield is sure to ease up tension for Tom
Glavine and Orlando Hernandez on the mound. With his winning mind-set and diving
catches he’s sure to provide some entertainment for Mets ticket holders.
Not only that, Mets tickets are sure to fly fast with the new bigger, better
attitude that is in the air around the outfit this year. The team has decided to
look at 2007 in an all or nothing way. If there is no World Series for them,
then it wasn’t a good season. This new found outlook may be some of manager
Willie Randolph’s doing in order to keep the home runs flowing from last year’s
close brush with the World Series.
Take Me Out to the Ball Park with Shea Stadium Tickets
Shea Stadium in itself will make you want to grab up Mets tickets this season
faster than you can say home run. The stadium screams personality and holds such
crowd pleasers as the big apple, representing New York, which pops out of the
Mets Magic Top hat every time a Mets player hits a home run. While walking into
the stadium, the Mets theme song “Meet the Mets” is sure to be heard, and with a
new stadium to open for the Mets in 2009, Shea Stadium is a ballpark that
everyone will want to see before it goes.
You’ll Want Mets Tickets for These Big Match-Up’s
The Mets play their cross town rivals the New York Yankees on May 18-20th, and
the World Series champions St. Louis Cardinals on June 25-28th. These are some
of the most exciting match-ups to catch in Shea Stadium, so don’t hesitate to
get Met tickets now!
Lucky for fans that buy New York Mets tickets, owner Fred Wilpon believes in
“spend it like ya got it.” To that end, he’s given Mets GM Omar Minaya control
of his checkbook and Minaya hasn’t been bashful about doing what it takes to
assemble a winner to play in Shea Stadium. In the process, he’s sending a
message that there are TWO baseball teams in the Big Apple. That fellow smiling
over in the corner is Mets Manager Willie Randolph. Those gleeful giggles you
hear are giddy New York Mets ticket buyers poised for an exciting season.
Let’s see, Minaya has brought in Carlos Delgado, Billy Wagner and Paul Lo Duca
to add to a star-studded roster that already features Pedro Martinez and Carlos
Beltran. Holy Millions Batman! But wait; fans are responding to the point where
the sale of New York Mets tickets is ahead of last year. Isn’t that the way it’s
supposed to work?
So their lineup should be formidable but the Mets pitching staff hits the
proverbial slippery slope after Pedro Martinez takes his turn. Fans are still
waiting for Victor Zambrano to break out. Sadly, sometimes guys like VZ never
do.
Look up “long in the tooth” in your favorite book of expressions and you’ll see
Tom Glavine’s picture. Posting a 13-13 last year, the 40-year-old veteran gets
by on guile, not power. Aaron Heilman inherits a spot from the departed Kris
Benson. Then there’s Steve Trachsel and the question comes to mind, why? Why is
this guy still around? But, Omar Minaya is a smart aggressive GM, so he’ll be
working the phones.
Just a note from the “God, I’m getting old file:”
Ex-White Sox Floyd Bannisters’ son Brian is a Mets pitching prospect. Was it
that long ago that Bannister was pitching for the ‘83 South Siders? Oh, well…
The N.Y. Mets have a pretty stout lineup but questions abound regarding the
starters. As the White Sox proved last year, the reverse is a better formula.
That aside, the Mets will be better and the Wilpon checkbook is always there in
case he needs to bring in some a high priced help. However, the fans are
believers and they continue to purchase New York Mets tickets at a rapid pace.
Even rich men like Fred Wilpon still love the sweet sound of a busy cash
register.
