Seattle Mariners Baseball Ticket info
Why You Need Seattle Mariners Tickets
While baseball fans in the Northwest have grown disgruntled with a franchise
that has struggled over the past three seasons, Seattle Mariners tickets promise
a solid 2007 for supporters of the American League West team. Why should you see
the Mariners play? Ichiro Suzuki. The speedy All-Star center fielder from Japan
has become one of the most exciting players to watch in all of Major League
Baseball. An ability to hit nearly any pitch thrown his way combined with six
consecutive Gold Glove awards for his defensive prowess make Suzuki a Seattle
superstar. Manager Mike Hargrove hopes that the rest of the team can play at his
level to help the Mariners reach the postseason for the first time since 2001.
Take Me Out to the Ballgame with Safeco Field Tickets
After spending their first two decades of existence in the Kingdome, Mariners
fans celebrated a move to Safeco Field in 1999. Worried about the rainy weather
in Seattle putting a damper on your game day? When you pick up Seattle Mariners
tickets, the stadium’s retractable roof erases the worry of sitting in soaked
seats with an umbrella over your head. In 2001, Safeco Field provided the
playing grounds for one of the best regular season records in the history of the
sport when the Mariners won 116 games. Despite many years of winning and three
AL West Division titles, the Mariners have not made an appearance in the World
Series as a franchise.
Get Mariners Tickets for these Key Matchups
After finishing fourth in the AL West in 2006, every game of the season is
crucial to the rebuilding process. Third baseman Adrian Beltre and first baseman
Richie Sexson will hope to compliment Suzuki and boost the Mariners run
production. The addition of veteran starting hurlers Miguel Batista and Horacio
Ramirez will round out the Mariners starting rotation against the hot hitters in
the rest of the American League. Games against divisional foes from California,
the Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics, are especially important to the
Mariners organization as the roster works to return a divisional title to the
city for the first time since 2001.
After four straight years with more than 90 wins in a season, the Seattle
Mariners have faltered the last two years, and fans with Mariners tickets are
hoping to see them turn things around, much like they did after a two year skid
prior to the 2000 season. Manager Mike Hargrove will lead a reloaded team
against a competitive division as they try to return to their winning ways.
Leading things off once again for the Mariners will be Ichiro Suzuki, who since
his arrival in the Major Leagues, has gotten more than 200 hits, giving him over
a .300 batting average, and has had more than 30 stolen bases and scored over
100 runs in every season he has played. Again joining Ichiro in the outfield
will be Raul Ibanez and Jeremy Reed, though free agent acquisitions Carl Everett
and Matt Lawton will see playing time in the outfield as well as being
designated hitters. Sluggers Adriane Beltre and Richie Sexson will return to the
corner infield spots, and will be looking to return to form after struggling to
adjust last year to the American League and the large Safeco Field. The Mariners
will see a bit of a change in their middle infield as shortstop Yuniesky
Betancourt and second baseman Jose Lopez will return as starters for the first
time. Both Betancourt and Lopez are in their early twenties, and are regarded
for their defensive prowess rather than their offensive abilities. The final
addition to the Mariners offense was free agent catcher Kenji Johjima from
Japan. The starting rotation should be improved this year as Jamie Moyer, Joel
Pineiro, and Gil Meche will be returning while Felix Hernandez and free agent
acquisition from the division rival
Los Angeles Angels Jarrod Washburn fill in for Ryan Franklin and Aaron Sele.
Eddie Guardado once again anchors the bullpen which features Rafael Soriano, J.J.
Putz, and Julio Mateo. The Seattle Mariners are poised to begin winning again
and while there have not been many changes on the roster, the additions of
Washburn, Johjima, Everett, and Lawton will compliment a team that appeared to
under perform last year and should bounce back. Mariners tickets will be worth
the price of admission once again as they look to concentrate on defense more
and not rely as much on the offense to win. It will be an exciting year at
Safeco, as Ichiro and the Mariners take the field this year.
