The State of Florida also had an impact on Louisville's season. The Cardinals were expected to breeze through the Big East and wind up in a BCS bowl. But a stunning blowout loss at South Florida in the third week of the season put a halt on any BCS talk in Louisville. Bobby Petrino's Cardinals rebounded to win three straight, before dropping a gut-wrenching 46-44 loss to the eventual Big East champion West Virginia Mountaineers.
Cantwell filled in for normal starter Brian Brohm, who suffered a season-ending injury late in the season. While Brohm's back-up helped Louisville to wins in its last two games, Cantwell hasn't seen anything like the Hokie defense. But Vick hasn't seen anyone like Dumervil either.
