Meineke Car Care Bowl tickets are becoming more and more popular with college
football fans across the country. The Meineke Car Care Bowl, held annually in
the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., has experienced sellout crowds
in two of the last three years and was named one of the five best startups in
sports over the last five years. Formerly known as the Continental Tire Bowl,
the 2005 Meineke Car Care Bowl pits the ACC’s North Carolina State Wolfpack
against the South Florida Bulls from the Big East.
Want to see a little piece of college football history? Head out to the Meineke
Car Care Bowl. The South Florida Bulls will be appearing in the first bowl game
in school history on December 31, 2005. The Bulls earned their way into the post
season with a 6-5 record that included a 45-14 upset of Louisville, ranked ninth
at the time, and another 45-31 upset of Rutgers. Quarterback Pat Julmiste has
passed for 1,398 yards, while adding another 342 with his feet. Running back
Andre Hall has carried the ball 251 times for 1,256 yards and 13 touchdowns.
The N.C. State Wolfpack put together their own package of upsets in 2005. The
‘Pack shocked the nation with a 20-15 win over the Florida State Seminoles in
Tallahassee, then proceeded to win four of their last five, locking up a bowl
bid with a 20-14 win over Maryland in their last game. N.C. State boasts a duo
of running backs in Andre Brown and Toney Baker that totaled over 1,000 yards
and 10 TD’s in 2005. Wide receiver Brian Clark leads the Wolfpack with over 20
yards a catch and five touchdowns, including a 96-yarder. Keep an eye peeled for
the ‘Packs defensive end Mario Williams, who has the knack for making opposing
quarterbacks miserable.
