Expectations are ramped up once again in Ann Arbor as the University of Michigan
Wolverines will look to contend for the Big Ten title and possibly a national
championship. The Wolverines start the year as the #5 team in the nation
according to the USA Today poll, so make sure you get your Michigan football
tickets today at ABCtickets.com.
Wolverine fans will be watching a team that hopes to build on last year’s 2nd
place finish in the Big 10. The maize and blue were led by a dominating defense
through the first 11 games of 2006. Combined with a potent offense, Michigan
dispatched all comers as they headed into the most anticipated match-up of the
year. Wolverine tickets were hard to come by as the team traveled to #1 Ohio
State in a nationally televised contest between the top two teams in the
country, which was also the first 1 vs. 2 matchup in their storied rivalry. The
game lived up to its billing, but the Buckeyes outlasted Michigan in a classic
42-39 shootout.
Michigan’s explosive offense will lead the way in 2007, as four year starters
Chad Henne and Mike Hart will form one of the nation’s best one-two punches.
Anyone who has had Wolverine tickets for the past three years knows the kind of
havoc this explosive duo can wreak.
Hart will be the featured component of a feared Wolverine ground game. The
senior is coming off a 2006 campaign in which he dominated teams for 1,562 yards
rushing and 14 touchdowns, both good enough for 2nd in the Big Ten last year.
Hart is also a pre-season contender for the Heisman Trophy.
Henne will once again take snaps under center and direct the aerial assault. He
tied the Michigan season record for touchdown passes with 25, first set by Elvis
Grbac in 1991, and completed 62% of his passes last year for 2,508 yards. Make
sure you have your Michigan football tickets as you watch Henne’s quest to break
many of John Navarre’s career passing records, including most completions,
yards, and touchdowns in a career.
Complimenting the duo will be receiver Mario Manningham. The junior wideout was
an All Big-10 selection despite missing four games due to injury. Manningham’s
speed and deep threat capability will help stretch defenses once again.
The Wolverine defense return as a formidable force, but the squad will have to
replace a number of key performers, including four starters who were selected in
the first two rounds of the NFL draft.
Must have tickets for Michigan football in 2007 include home contests with Penn
State on September 22nd and a rematch with Ohio State on November 17th. You
also need to get Michigan tickets when the Wolverines travel to Madison to take
on Wisconsin on November 10th.
2006-2007 Michigan Wolverines football ticket info
If you are looking to see one of the best college football teams in the nation
take the field, then you are probably looking to score some Michigan Wolverines
Football tickets. Nicknamed the Big House, Michigan Stadium will be the place to
be on Saturday’s this fall. The Wolverines are the football team that defines
the Big Ten Conference, which makes finding tickets to the games so difficult
and rare, but ABCTickets.com can get you in on the action to see the of the most
prolific NCAA Football team in the nation.
The Wolverines have so many fans, in part due to their winning ways that stretch
back to when they won the very first
Rose Bowl game in 1902. As of the 2005
season, the Wolverines hold both the highest total wins at 849, as well as the
highest winning percentage of any NCCA football team at 74 percent. Since 1989,
the Wolverines have won or shared seven Big Ten titles and won a share of the
National Championship. They have not seen a losing season since 1967. Michigan
has also produced three Heisman Trophy winners. Charles Woodson, now a Pro Bowl
cornerback in the NFL, was among those three and became the only defensive
player to ever win the Heisman, besting Peyton Manning.
With all their tradition of winning and continually being at the top of the Big
Ten Conference, the rivalries that the Wolverines have with other schools make
Michigan football tickets to the rivalry games so sought after that if you don’t
have them well before game day, you may not find a seat, even at Michigan
Stadium, which is the largest football stadium in the country. Among the
rivalries that the Wolverines have, the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry is the most
hotly contested. In ESPN’s fan poll in 2000 and 2003, the Michigan
OSU tickets and
series was voted the greatest rivalry in sports, and the Big Ten title is often
in the balance with the outcome of their game. The most famous game between the
two teams was 1950’s “Snow Bowl.” Under severe weather conditions of snow and
wind, the game was won by the Wolverines 9-3, even though they failed to
complete any of their nine passes, never made a first down during the game, and
both teams combined to punt the ball an unheard of forty-five times.
Because The Big House often exceeds their 107,000-seat capacity and sells out
games on a regular basis, fans of the team have a tough time finding their
Michigan Wolverines Football tickets. The games are so well attended that during
a football game, the population of the town almost doubles. If you turn to
ABCTickets.com to help score your Michigan football tickets, then you could be
one of the many people to grab a seat to see the Big Ten’s perennial powerhouse
team on their way to yet another Big Ten title and perhaps another national
championship year.
