Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner … Oklahoma football tickets are as hot as ever.
Head coach Bob Stoops has re-established the Sooners as one of the premier NCAA
college football programs in the nation. Gaylord Memorial Stadium in beautiful
Norman, Oklahoma, will be the site for many of this year’s biggest games. The
University of Washington,
Colorado,
Iowa State and
Texas Tech will each visit
Norman this fall, in what promises to be another banner year for Sooner Nation.
For most programs, an 8-4 season capped off by a
Holiday Bowl
victory would be
just fine. For Oklahoma, it was a down year. But a closer look reveals the Sooners were young, especially at key positions like quarterback and receiver.
That inexperience combined with Adrian Peterson’s nagging ankle injury
contributed in the less than Sooner-like season.
But now those young Sooner studs are a year older and wiser. And Peterson is
determined to put himself back in the Heisman race. That’s sending shock waves
through the Big 12 Conference and the National Championship race. Quarterback
Rhett Bomar developed nicely last season. Only a sophomore, he has shown the
ability to hurt defenses with his arm or his legs. He’ll have a receiving corps
loaded with budding superstars to orchestrate Oklahoma’s attack, under new
offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson.
Formerly in charge of the Sooners’ ground game, Wilson will look to get Peterson
the ball as often as possible. That’s more bad new for the Big 12, as Peterson
has racked up yards in record numbers in his first two seasons in a Sooner
jersey. Now entering his junior season, possibly his last before heading off to
the NFL, Peterson has his eyes set on not only adding another National Champion
to the Sooners’ illustrious history, but also picking up a bronze piece of
hardware along the way.
They’ll have to battle through the brutal Big 12 Conference schedule, which
includes the Sooners’ biggest game every year, a little diddy know as the Red
River Shootout. OU’s annual game with the Texas Longhorns kicks off of on the
second weekend in October smack down in the middle of the Texas State Fair. It’s
corn dogs, funnel cakes and football in an atmosphere that’s divided equally in
burnt orange and crimson and cream. It’s always a good idea to start your search
for Oklahoma-Texas tickets early, and, luckily, you’ve come to the right place.
The pieces are in place for another historic season in Norman. It’s always a
sell out at Gaylord Memorial Stadium, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be in some
of the best seats available. Oklahoma Sooners football tickets are only a click
of your mouse away.
