The Eyes of Texas are upon Longhorn football tickets, as Mac Brown’s
ultra-talented squad looks to defend its national title and
Big 12 Conference Championship. Brown will have to replace the irreplaceable
in dynamic quarterback Vince Young, who almost single handily led the Horns past
USC in the 2006 BCS National Championship Game at the
Rose
Bowl. Texas also suffered the losses on the defensive side of the ball,
including All-American cornerback Michael Huff. But the cupboard is far from
empty. In Austin, the Longhorns no longer rebuild, instead they reload. That’s
why Texas football tickets are one our most desired commodities here at
ABCTickets.com.
After finishing in the top six in polls the last five seasons, the Longhorns
enter the 2006 NCAA college football season with a nation-best 20-game win
streak. They’ll have 14 returning starters to help keep that streak alive.
Sophomore running back Jamal Charles did his best Cedric Benson/Rickey Williams
imitation last season. With his blinding speed, Charles kept defenses honest and
prevented them from focusing on Young solely. His 80-yard burst against Oklahoma
opened the floodgates for the Longhorns’ rout of their biggest rival. Senior
tailback Selvin Young, who has suffered through an injury-plagued career, will
provide some much-needed depth in the Texas backfield. Wide out Billy Pittman, a
former prep quarterback, will be another important offensive weapon, as the
Longhorns look to move on without Young.
Along with having to replace stars on both sides of the ball, Texas also will
have to navigate through a brutal schedule that includes a huge non-conference
showdown with Ohio State on Sept. 9 in Austin. Last year, the Longhorns snuck
past the
Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio. The victory propelled Texas to the national
title. And of course, there’s the annual Red River Shootout with archrival
Oklahoma at the
Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The Horns ended a six-year skid against the Sooners,
with a decisive rout in last year’s Red River Shootout. Always a tough ticket,
ABCTickets.com specializes in locating Texas-Oklahoma tickets. This year’s game
kicks off on Oct. 7.
The ’Horns hooked the entire college football nation last year. Now, they’re
back for another ride through the Big 12 en route to what fans in burnt orange
hope is a trip to the
Orange Bowl, the site of the 2007 BCS National Championship Game. Let
ABCTickets.com hook you up Longhorns football tickets today!
