Wisconsin football ticket info
Although they play their games at Camp Randall Stadium, with over 80,000 seats
per game, the Badgers have always drawn large crowds and their loyal following
makes it almost certain that it will be tough to get Wisconsin Badgers football
tickets again in 2006. Widely considered the most hostile stadium in all of NCAA
Football, the recent success of the Badgers has made finding tickets to Camp
Randall Stadium tougher than ever among Big Ten football teams.
Although the history of the Wisconsin Badgers Football team stretches back over
100 years, the Badgers have experienced the majority of their success for the
football program in recent years. Since 1994 the Badgers have won three Rose
Bowls and captured eleven conference titles. All this recent success has
re-energized the football program as well as drawn in more and more fans every
year. In the Big Ten Conference, their most notable rivalries are with the
University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, where they play for Paul Bunyan’s Ace,
and with the University of Iowa, where the winner takes home the Heartland
Trophy.
Given to the winning team immediately upon the conclusion of the game between
the Badgers and the Golden Gophers, Paul Bunyan’s Axe is a symbol of one of the
biggest rivalries in all of NCAA Football. The two teams have met for a total of
115 games as of 2005, and the Golden Gophers lead the series 59-48-8, but the
Wisconsin Badgers now hold the Paul Bunyan’s Axe after defeating the Golden
Gophers by a score of 38-34 in the 2005 meeting.
The Badgers rivalry with Iowa was escalated in 2004 when the Heartland Trophy
was first presented to the winner of the game. The trophy is a Brass Bull and in
2004, Iowa took it home after beating the Badgers 30-7.
Rivalries are everything in college football and are some of the most hard
fought games a team will face during an entire year of NCAA Football. Finding
Wisconsin Badgers football tickets is hard enough for a regular season game, but
when a rivalry game is being played, you need to jump on your opportunity to
find tickets as soon as possible, and if you let ABCTickets.com help you find
what you need, you can be sure you’ll be at the game to see everything from the
first kick off to the final tick of the game clock.
