New York Rangers ticket info
If there is a more historic, more time-honored arena for professional sports
than
Madison Square Garden, you'll be hard-pressed to name it. New York Rangers
tickets get you admission into the "World's Most Famous Arena," as well as to
some of the best professional hockey around. There is nothing more exciting than
a trip to New York City than a trip to New York City to see the Rangers take on
all rivals at Madison Square Garden.
The Star
High scoring center Jaromir Jagr might be the most impressive player on the
Rangers' roster this season. The big Czech center has been to the All-Star Game
eight times, and has won the Stanley Cup twice. He's won the Art Ross Trophy for
leading point scorer five times over the course of his career, and was league
MVP in 1999. He'll be counted on by the Rangers to lead the team in scoring, and
he should thrill New York Rangers ticket holders by being near the top of NHL
scorers as well. He finished second last year.
The Coach
Head coach Tom Renney has developed a hard-working, high-scoring, tight hockey
team during his tenure in New York. He shaped rookie goalie Henrik "The King"
Lundqvist into a superstar last season, and he's ensured that the Rangers didn't
chase big name talent in the off-season just for the names. The team made
acquisitions that complement their game plan, a plan developed by Renney, which
the players fully believe in. This faith in the man behind the boards was
reflected in their success on the ice.
The Team
Some might say that this is the best team in the NHL. Don't let their early exit
in the playoffs last year fool you. With the addition of free agents Matt Cullen
and Brendan Shanahan, this potent offense got even better. Aaron Ward will make
the Rangers tougher along the blue line. All the pieces are finally coming
together for the Rangers. Fans with New York Rangers tickets know that week
after week, they will get to see some of the best hockey around from a team that
won't rest until it hoists the Stanley Cup once more in Madison Square Garden.
Other NY Rangers info
What is an NHL hockey fan to do when visiting the Big Apple? Broadway musical?
Nah, that’s for sissies. A romantic walk through Central Park with your
sweetheart? Nah, she’ll just nag the whole time. It’s hockey! It’s hockey we
want to see, and there’s nothing like seeing an NHL hockey game in the world’s
most famous arena, Madison Square Garden. New York Rangers tickets will give you
an upfront and personal look at the NHL hockey, New York-style.
Created in 1926, the New York Rangers have a long tradition of superior
performance. Its rosters have included three Hall of Famers: Frank Boucher, Bill
Cook, Mark Messier and Ivan "Ching" Johnson. In their first 16 seasons, the
Rangers missed the playoffs only once and went to the finals four times in six
years. They were known as “the classiest team in hockey,” and that’s saying a
lot for a sport known for fighting tactics and toothless players. In 1994, the
New York Rangers hoisted the Lord Stanley’s Cup.
This is an exciting time to be a New York Rangers fan. After 80+ years in
existence, general manager Glen Sather, saw that the New York Rangers needed a
fresh start. After the 2003-2004 season, he felt it was time to shake things up
and traded away veteran players like Brian Leetch, Alexei Kovalev, Greg de Vries,
Martin Rucinsky, Matthew Barnaby, Anson Carter, Vladimir Malakhov, Petr Nedved,
Ronald Petrovicky, and Chris Simon.. He also decided to not re-sign Eric Lindros,
Mark Messier, Jan Hlavac, Karel Rachunek, Boris Mironov, Joel Bouchard, Dan
Lacouture, Sandy McCarthy, and Mike Dunham. His strategy was to rebuild the team
from within in order to have long-term success. He did this by saving a few
veteran players led by Jaromir Jagr and augmenting the rest of the team by
off-season acquisitions, including Martin Straka, Steve Rucchin, Michael
Nylander, Marek Malik, Jason Strudwick and Kevin Weekes. He believes the
transitional period will be long and hard, but this new team of “home grown”
players will be younger, more competitive, and more successful. This is the next
generation of the New York Rangers.
As one of five teams in the Atlantic Division of the National Hockey League, the
New York Rangers represent a long history of tradition and honor. Get your New
