The Phoenix Coyotes ticket and team info

If you're looking for Phoenix Coyotes tickets, you can count yourself among the precious few Canadian ex-pats who attend hockey games in Arizona in the high hopes of spotting a big name from your old hometown. Widely known as the NHL's equivalent of a sparring speed bag, the Coyotes are great fodder for giant clubhouses such as Detroit and Colorado to pad their numbers. Not even Don King could talk enough trash to hype up these guys.

    THE COACH

There's nothing more heartbreaking than watching greatness tumble. Many swear they hear babies crying in the distance when they think of how The Great One himself, Wayne Gretzky, can lead a team as utterly subjugated as the Coyotes. Part-owner, the legendary center and suspected Canadian pagan deity hasn't managed to pull his team out of a consecutive three-season slump that found the franchising losing more games than they won (the Coyotes finished last season with an extinction-hailing 38-39 record). This team is one of those groups where the captain would actually do better himself. Gretzky's suggested strategy for the upcoming season? Not bending over.
But a chance to see the Great One is still a priority for all hockey fans and well worth the price of Phoenix Coyotes tickets.

    THE STAR

More men have stormed this franchise than the Bastille, despite a superstar-roster featuring Ed Jovanovski, Owen Nolan, Mike Ricci, and Jeremy Roenick. This year's star to watch is newly-acquired goaltender and former Maple Leaf star Cujo (known to most of the non-hockey world as Curtis Joseph). Aptly named after the mutant-yet-lovable literary pup, Cujo took his 400th career win last season, surpassing NHL legend Tony Esposito as the sixth on the list of all-time win goalies.

    THE TEAM

Phoenix is a team historians swear once featured most-hated-scum-in-hockey Claude Lemieux. Though most critics (and fans) are pessimistic about the coming season, leadership such as Shane Doan and Jeremy Roenick make the Coyotes the team everyone hates to love. While part of their roster reads like a mad scientist's amalgamated creation of body parts ("It's alive! Alive!"), Phoenix has yet to fully take off. It could be that all those stars provide titan skills hampered by Olympian egos, but it could also be that Fate hates organizations that may very well be too good for their own...good?

    THE ARENA

Phoenix's career graveyard and part-time home to a hockey team is Glendale Arena. Surrounded by palm trees and 100-degree sand, sand, and more sand, Glendale can disappoint a whopping 17, 653 indigenous Arizona hockey fans at once. If absolutely necessary, the arena can be located at 9400 West Maryland Avenue just inside Phoenix. If lost, just follow the trail of broken dreams.

    Phoenix coyotes info

Phoenix Coyote tickets will be a hot item as owner and now head coach Wayne Gretzky takes to the bench to lead his team back onto the ice for the 2005-06 NHL season. The Glendale Arena should be standing room only. Seats will be filled because of this decision by “The Great One.” Being the owner/head coach can have its good points because you have no one to blame but yourself. If all goes according to the way Gretzky played the game, the Coyotes will be a force to reckon with come playoff time and Coyotes tickets will take off like a rocket.

Acting as owner and head coach, Gretzky has armed himself with excellent personnel. He has put together a veteran coaching staff to help insure a successful transition to life as a head coach. Rick Bowness, who coached the Coyotes after Bobby Francis was fired with two months to go in the 2003-04 season, will return to his previous role as assistant coach. He'll join Barry Smith, the longtime assistant coach with the Detroit Red Wings, and Rick Tocchet, who rejoins the Coyotes after a season and a half as an assistant with the Colorado Avalanche.

After a season spent waiting to put on their Coyote sweaters, veterans Petr Nedved, Sean O'Donnell, Mike Ricci, Boyd Devereaux and Oleg Saprykin will get the chance to lead a young and talented team coming into the 2005 season. With that kind of veteran support, the Coyotes should be impacted immediately and behind the bench, Gretzky will be sure to make all the results turn into something positive

The Coyotes have missed the NHL Playoffs in three of the last four years, so there is definite room for improvement. Their best season came back in 2001-02, when Gretzky took over as owner of the franchise. They had a 40-27-9-6 record that year and fell just 5 points short of their first division title. The San José Sharks later extinguished them in the first round in the playoffs that year.

Phoenix Coyotes tickets are primed to give Arizona hockey fans a chance to see history in the making. If Gretzky is anywhere near as good on the bench as he was on the ice, Phoenix will be ready for a run in the Stanley Cup Championship. Every seat will be filled at the Glendale arena as the Phoenix community grabs a hold of one of the hottest tickets in the NHL, namely, Phoenix Coyotes tickets.
