St. Louis Blues ticket and team info

Just because the team is called the St. Louis Blues, doesn't mean you have to play like you want to give your fans the blues. That's the way St. Louis Blues ticket holder felt last year, as their team finished last in the NHL. The Scottrade Center formerly the Savvis Center was not a happy place. But in the new NHL, it doesn't take long to rebuild a team, and the Blues are trying to do just that. They'll have the fans singing a happy tune soon enough.

The Star
The Blues brought in goalie Manny Legace from the Detroit Red Wings in the off-season to help solidify a problem position. Legace won 37 games last year for the Red Wings, and posted 7 shut-outs. He was also a member of the 2001-02 Red Wings team that won the Stanley Cup, and brings some much-needed stability and veteran leadership to the Blues.

The Coach
When Mike Kitchen took over the head coaching job, he wasn't given much to work with. He still doesn't have the talent and depth he needs to make this team competitive, but his leadership behind the bench will make for a lot of improvement. Don't give up on the Blues just yet. Kitchen is a good coach, who always prepares for his games and he knows the importance of a strong work ethic. In no time he'll have this team turned around.

The Team
In the new NHL, things can change really quickly. One day, St. Louis ticket holders might be singing the Blues for their troubled offense, but the next they will be cheering for their stingy defense play. The Blues will be tough along the blue line, and will provide fans with some hope this season. They may be rebuilding now, but fans will be treated to some decent play sooner rather than later. And once top draft pick Erik Johnson gets on the ice, opposing teams will be singing the blues for a change. Get the best seat in the house with St. Louis Blues tickets!

More Saint Louis Blues info

It’s going to an interesting year for NHL hockey fans with St. Louis Blues tickets. The Blues, along with a host of other NHL teams, are fielding a much different squad than the one that hit the ice in 2004. Gone are Chris Pronger, who left for the Edmonton Oilers, and Al MacInnis, who chose to retire after a serious eye injury. It will be up to the Blues braintrust to replace the two stalwarts of the Blues defense. Their efforts look good so far and Blues fans have responded by making plans to fill the seats at the Savvis Center and snatching up St. Louis Blues tickets with abandon.

The Blues are returning to the Central Division after winning 39 games and making the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the 25th consecutive year. A slow start hindered St. Louis and as a result, head coach Joel Quenneville was given his walking papers. Mike Kitchen took over and led the Blues to the playoffs. Kitchen was 10-7-4-0 after taking over. The Blues finished the season on a sour note though, losing in the first round to the San Jose Sharks after five games.

Doug Weight and Keith Tkachuk both return as power forwards for St. Louis. Weight put up 14 goals and 51 assists last season. He’s got experience, having played 22 playoff games for the Blues. Tkachuk netted 33 goals and 38 assists over 75 games for St. Louis and his prowess is important for the Blues to remain successful. The Blues immediately addressed the loss of Pronger and MacInnis by acquiring three defenseman. Eric Brewer, Doug Lynch, and Jeff Woywitka should serve nicely to fill in their absence. Patrick Lalime, who had 1.96 goals against average in the playoffs, remains to solidify the defense.

St Louis Blues tickets have given Blues fans 25 years of playoff-quality hockey. There aren’t many teams that can boast that kind of record. With their last Stanley Cup Finals appearance in 1970 though, it’s time for the Blues to break through. 2006 could be the year St. Louis Blues ticket deliver a Stanley Cup to the Savvis Center. Don’t miss out. Get your St. Louis Blues tickets today.
